REMEMBER YOUR WHY
The whole point of planning a wedding is to spend forever with the one you love most! Not losing sight of that as the end goal will help keep you motivated immensely.
DISCUSS YOUR WEDDING VISION & PRIORITIES
There must be something that excites you about your wedding day, right? Maybe it is finding the wedding dress of your dreams, having the best food at your reception, or finding the perfect photographer to capture your special day & create memories that you will cherish forever. Whatever your top wedding day priorities are, discuss them with your partner so you are on the same page (the wedding day is about both of you, remember!). By discussing with your partner, this allows you to know what each other's goals are, and you can hype each other up about what you are looking forward to the most! Also, if you’re ever feeling down about wedding planning, you can keep each other accountable to keep planning the wedding of your dreams! If you need help getting started, read this post that has tips for deciding on what to prioritize for your wedding day.
CELEBRATE THE SMALL WINS
Do you feel accomplished when you complete something off your to-do list? We sure do! Applying this same principal to planning your wedding will help you become more motivated, too! Here are some examples of small wedding planning wins that are still super important!
Did you order your wedding cake topper? Cheers to you!
Write a thank you note for a gift you received off of your wedding registry? Way to go!
No matter how small, celebrate the fact that you are crossing items off your wedding planning to-do list. The more often you do this, the easier it will be to stop procrastinating, because you are actually getting things done!
STAY POSITIVE
Having a positive mindset is key to staying motivated! Some situations will be harder to find the good in than others, but most of the time, if you look hard enough, you can find the positives in the situations you are faced with! Focus on things you can control & what’s going well, and this will improve your mindset so much. And, the more positive you are about things, the easier it will be to stay motivated to plan your wedding!
TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH
We cannot stress the importance of living a healthy lifestyle enough. Easier said than done, but here are some tips!
Drink water!!!
Get enough sleep. Try going to bed earlier if you need to!
Add more nutritious foods to your diet & eat well-balanced meals & snacks. Favorite kitchensinkit recipes are linked here. We also think meal planning helps a ton if you are trying to eat healthy!
Exercise, even if it is just getting up throughout the day and taking a 10-minute walk. Fresh air is recommended, but getting up & walking around the house counts, too! (I do this all the time to hit my step goals!)
If you are dehydrated, tired, eating unhealthy foods which are causing you to not feel your best, or not getting endorphins in from exercising, it will be extra hard to stay motivated. That’s why we recommend following some, if not all, of these tips to improve your health!
