Reasons To Have A Joint Bachelor & Bachelorette Party

As you are thinking about your bachelor and/or bachelorette party, have you considered doing a joint bachelor & bachelorette party?!? Rich & Kitch had a joint celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, before our destination wedding & it was a lot of fun! We can’t wait to share our reasons for having a joint celebration with you here!

While having a joint bachelor & bachelorette party isn’t the most traditional way to celebrate before your wedding, Rich & Kitch think a joint celebration is such an underrated wedding trend!

Here are some reasons for & benefits of celebrating together as a couple with your closest friends & family members before you say “I do”:

01 CELEBRATE WHEN EVERYONE IS TOGETHER FOR YOUR DESTINATION WEDDING

If you are having a destination wedding, you are already asking people to travel for that, so why not make it easy on everyone to celebrate when you are all together?! When we were getting married, it didn’t feel right for us to have our family & friends travel to separate bachelor & bachelorette parties on top of our destination wedding. Since our bridesmaids & groomsmen lived in different cities, even if we did something local for us, some people would still have had to travel. Getting married in Los Cabos, Mexico, can get expensive & time off of work for everyone adds up quickly, so these are things to keep in mind as you are planning your bachelor/bachelorette party!

02 SHOW YOUR WEDDING PARTY ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE PLACES

We chose to get married in Cabo since it is such a special place for us. If you are choosing to get married in Cabo for that same reason as well, then why not have a joint celebration to show your wedding party one (or a few) of your favorite places?! At the time we got married, showing everyone El Squid Roe was a must, so that is where we had our joint bachelor/bachelorette party! Our wedding guests did all-inclusive, but it was fun to get off of the resort & show them downtown Cabo San Lucas. At El Squid Roe, we reserved a spot for our group & bought everyone bottle service as a thank you for coming to Cabo to support us getting married! While Squid Roe is an iconic club in Cabo, there are many other amazing options, too, which you can read about here!

03 WEDDINGS ARE ABOUT MARRYING THE ONE YOU LOVE, SO WHY NOT HAVE ANOTHER CELEBRATION TOGETHER?!

We don’t know about you, but Richie & I enjoy spending time together, & a lot of our friends are couples, so it just made sense to have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party! While it may not be the “traditional” thing to do, it was so much fun!!!

BONUS!

If you are thinking about having your joint bachelor/bachelorette party somewhere other than your destination wedding location, that can be a ton of fun, too! We had a huge group of guys & gals spend the weekend in Austin, Texas our friend's birthday, which got us thinking that ATX would be an amazing destination for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party! Here are Rich & Kitch’s Austin, Texas travel recommendations if ATX sounds like the perfect weekend getaway location for your group!

WHERE TO STAY IN ATX

Rent an Airbnb with a pool for a large group! We stayed at this Airbnb, located in Hill Country about 20 minutes outside of the city, so there wasn’t much by us, but the house was amazing & we found the best coffee shop called @civilgoatcoffee for breakfast.

WHEN TO GO TO ATX

We had amazing weather at the beginning of April! So much sun, temps in the 80s during the day, & it wasn’t humid yet! A tad chilly at night but literally ideal weather.

WHAT TO DO IN ATX

  • Hang out by the pool during the day or rent a boat on Lake Travis (on our bucket list for next time!)

  • Hopefully, someone in your group likes to cook, but if not, get Tex Mex or BBQ catered! & when you’re out & about, there are SO many food trucks!

  • Visit Rainey Street for day drinking & 6th Street for evening bars & clubs! Some of our stops included: @halfstepbar @greenlightsocialatx @bufordsaustin @rkbatx @sanjacsaloon

HAVE WE CONVINCED YOU TO HAVE A JOINT BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE PARTY YET?!

We promise you won’t regret it! You & your closest friends/family will have memories to last a lifetime!
