BEST UNIQUE DESTINATION WEDDING VENUES
Here is the Rich & Kitch list of the BEST unique destination wedding venues in Los Cabos:
The one caveat we will note about having your wedding at one of these amazing venues is that you will need to factor transportation services into your wedding budget. However, we must say it is worth it to have your wedding at one of these amazing locations in Los Cabos! Please contact us here if you’d like recommendations for Los Cabos transportation companies.
Sunset Monalisa is our FAVORITE standalone wedding venue option in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Besides being an amazing 5-star restaurant, Sunset Monalisa has a beautiful picturesque backdrop for your destination wedding in Los Cabos. Their view of the ocean & iconic Cabo rocks never gets old!! Watch this video to see the amazing spaces this destination wedding venue has to offer.
To have your wedding at Sunset Monalisa, you have the option to buy out the entire restaurant. This gives you the ultimate privacy to have an intimate wedding with your friends & family. A full buyout is recommended if your wedding guest count will be more than 60 people. If you have a wedding guest count of less than 60 people, you can do a partial buyout of the restaurant. This blocks off a section of the restaurant for your ceremony & your reception will be held in their enclosed space for privacy. For both options, Sunset Monalisa charges a minimum consumption price for food & beverages. Additional wedding expenses like your photographer, videographer, florist/décor vendor, minister, musician/DJ, etc. are quoted separately.
Sunset Monalisa is located in the Tourist Corridor, closer to downtown Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Please contact us here if you’d like us to connect you with Sunset Monalisa’s wedding coordinator. We can also provide you with recommendations on where to stay in Cabo San Lucas.
Acre Baja is a hidden destination wedding venue oasis in San José del Cabo, Mexico. The way we would describe Acre is chic/boho/jungle vibes. It is a bit of an adventure to get to Acre Baja, but once you make your way down the dirt roads, you will be pleasantly surprised! Watch this video to see what we mean - & this is only the entrance to the restaurant!
We LOVE the flow of weddings at Acre. Watch this video to see the amazing spaces this destination wedding venue has to offer. Acre provides a secluded & intimate wedding experience, but also has plenty of space if you have many guests traveling to Cabo for your special day! We love how Acre gives you a blank canvas to make your wedding vision come to life!

Overall, the Acre Baja property is amazing in general. They have a delicious restaurant & cocktail bar (they even make their own mezcal), a dog rescue organization (you can even play with the puppies!), and a farm (their famous burro (donkey) named Burrito can even make an appearance in your wedding day photos!).
Acre Baja has a treehouse hotel, too. However, there aren’t many treehouse rooms available to rent on the property, so we recommend couples stay at a different resort in Los Cabos if you want to be with your family & friends during your destination wedding week. Please contact us here if you’d like us to connect you with Acre Baja’s wedding coordinator. We can also provide you with recommendations on where to stay in San José del Cabo, which is the town closest to Acre Baja.
Flora Farms is another unique destination wedding venue in San José del Cabo, where Adam Levine got married! Flora Farms is located right next to Acre Baja, and while both are amazing, the vibes are completely different. We’d describe Flora Farms as chic/farm-to-table/garden style. Their areas for weddings offer you an amazing canvas to make your wedding vision become a reality! Flora Farms offers amazing & super fresh food & cocktails, too! Please contact us here if you need recommendations on where to stay in San José del Cabo.

A newer farm-to-table destination wedding venue that is a Rich & Kitch favorite is El Huerto. The laid-back desert vibes are amazing, along with the location. El Huerto Farm-to-Table is located near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, compared to the other farm-to-table restaurants located near San José del Cabo. As you can see in the photos below, there are so many beautiful locations on this property for you to host your destination wedding, rehearsal dinner, or post-wedding brunch!
If you prefer to visit El Huerto Farm-To-Table during your honeymoon or anniversary trip in Cabo San Lucas, we highly recommend doing that, too. The restaurant offers the freshest farm-to-table foods for brunch & dinner. The meal portions are extremely generous, so arrive hungry! El Huerto's menu changes seasonally, but these are some of our favorite foods & cocktails we tried:
BRUNCH: We loved the Meat & Cheese Omelette and Alaskan King Crab Eggs Benedict. Our server also recommended the French Toast if you like sweets for brunch!
DINNER: The catch of the day is always my favorite & Richie's grilled octopus was delish.
DESSERT: If you are celebrating a special occasion during brunch or dinner, let the hostess know so you can be surprised with a free dessert & cold sparkler! We got to celebrate our anniversary twice & had strawberry sorbet (with strawberries from their garden!) & carrot cake. We’re not the biggest dessert people, but these were both SO good.
COCKTAILS: A Skinny Spicy Margarita or Mezcalita is always a great choice & the Spicy Carrot Mezcal was our favorite specialty cocktail. For brunch, they have a Green Bloody Mary & lots of mimosa options. Don’t forget to order espresso provided by Doce Cuarenta Coffee, too!
As you can see, visiting El Huerto is a must, & they have top-notch service. The grounds are unique & beautiful, & overall, the property provides so many amazing options for special events!! Please contact us here if you'd like help planning your destination wedding at El Huerto or if you need recommendations on where to stay in Cabo San Lucas!
Los Tamarindos is another one of the newer farm-to-table venues located in San José del Cabo. It is a little more off the beaten path compared to Acre Baja & Flora Farms, and The Farm at Los Tamarindos is a very unique venue in its own way. Feel free to check out their website here to see their wedding venue options or photos below from a recent Look At Me Brides Mexico wedding!

We recently went to Los Tamarindos for a Sunday brunch with friends & it was amazing. We’d describe Los Tamarindos as low-key/authentic/Mexican vibes. Out of the food we tried, the chilaquiles were amazing, & we highly recommend any flavor of their mezcalita cocktails! To get a better idea of the experience offered at Los Tamarindos, check out our photos below!
PRIVATE BOAT CHARTERS
If you are looking for an extremely unique type of destination wedding venue, why not charter a luxury boat like Pelican Cabo? This is an amazing experience for an intimate destination wedding in Cabo. Wedding photos on the Sea of Cortez, with the Cabo arch in the background, would make for the best wedding photos! We love Pelican Cabo as a unique destination wedding venue since the style of the boat is aesthetically pleasing & you can customize the décor onboard for your wedding day!
As luxury FORA travel advisors, we can book your private yacht charter for you, so please contact us here for more details!
Another private boat charter we love as a wedding venue is Animalon by the Sea. It is known for being Cabo’s first floating restaurant, so it makes for an intimate wedding & delicious wedding reception dinner on the water. Chartering this boat for a destination wedding week excursion would be another great option, too!

Unfortunately, the Animalon by the Sea experience is no longer available, but the boat is still available for private charters.
Another amazing occasion to experience Animalon by the Sea would be to book a dinner cruise during your honeymoon or anniversary trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In true Rich & Kitch style, we celebrated our wedding anniversary on the Animalon by the Sea & we were so impressed!!! Animalon by the Sea is the chicest floating restaurant ever & offers a 3-hour dinner cruise in the Sea of Cortez. In the summer, we arrived to the dock at 5:30pm then cruised from 6 to 9 which is perfect for photo opportunities by the famous Cabo arch & summer sunsets! The Animalon is a 2-story pontoon boat & a super smooth cruise! The boat decor is so aesthetically pleasing, too, & we need to give a shout-out to the nicest & best decorated boat bathrooms we’ve ever seen lol!
Having dinner on the Animalon was amazing & the 5-course menu did not disappoint! The menu changes seasonally, but the food we had in June was delicious. The portion sizes were more than expected & our favorite dish was the ceviche of course! The meals were spaced out nicely, the service was top-notch, & the entire dining experience was spectacular. The boat has an impressive full bar & the bartenders know how to make a spicy cocktail, too! There is also an espresso machine on board & we hands down had the best carajillo ever. Animalon by the Sea is truly a luxurious experience & 100% worth booking during your honeymoon and/or anniversary trip. We were so impressed & can’t wait to do it again!
