The Medano Beach area is our favorite location in Cabo since it is super close to downtown! We also love this beach since it is safe to swim in the Sea of Cortez. You can read more of our Medano Beach recommendations in this post, but now let’s dive into Rich & Kitch’s favorite destination weddings resorts located along Medano Beach!
Villa del Arco is first on our list since this is where Rich & Kitch got hitched! My family owns a timeshare at Villa del Arco, which ultimately helped us make our decision, but we’re so glad we decided to get married at this amazing resort! The property is beautiful, the rooms are extremely nice (especially the penthouses as you can see in this video), & we are always impressed with the service from Villa del Arco’s amazing employees!
The wedding packages at Villa del Arco are reasonably priced & the service you will receive on your wedding day is top-notch. If you do not hire an outside wedding planner, you will be very involved in the wedding planning process leading up to your wedding day. This is why we created the Get Hitched With Rich & Kitch Wedding Planning Playbook to help you along your wedding planning journey! However, Villa del Arco wedding packages include a day-of wedding coordinator which is extremely helpful to make your wedding day run as smoothly & as stress-free as possible!
If your guests book a minimum of 10 rooms for 3 nights stay at Villa del Arco, you will receive a complimentary wedding ceremony which includes:
Wedding ceremony performed by a Minister
A commemorative marriage certificate
Chairs for your wedding ceremony (we requested to use the resort's chiavari chairs vs. chairs covered in white fabric)
Beautiful canopy draped with white flowing fabric (we used the resort’s 3-pole wedding arch & added flowers from Let It Be Events)
Bridal bouquet (we decided to use Let It Be Events for all of our wedding flowers instead)
Bottle of wine in the room upon arrival for the couple
15% discount on Spa services (helpful to use for getting ready on your wedding day. The hair & makeup team can come to your room on your wedding day which is nice, too!)
Romantic turn-down service on the wedding night for the couple
2 free nights to celebrate your anniversary (only offered at Villa del Palmar even if you get married at Villa del Arco)

If you don’t qualify for a complimentary wedding ceremony, Villa del Arco has affordable wedding ceremony packages to purchase as well. For our wedding ceremony, we used their minister Diego from Los Cabos Wedding Minister Services & he was amazing!!! The only downside is that the ceremony is not legally valid, so you can read how we decided to make our marriage legal here.
We chose to have our wedding ceremony on El Patron Terrace vs. getting married on the beach because we both wanted more privacy for our wedding. If you have a beach wedding at Villa del Arco, random people tend to watch from over the railing at the resort, which is something we didn’t want. El Patrón Terrace is more secluded & has the iconic Cabo rocks as your wedding day backdrop, so this was the perfect option for us! Our Cabo wedding ceremony started at 5:30pm & lasted about 20 minutes. We had both of our moms read a short reading & added in a wine box ceremony. We are glad we did both of these to make the ceremony more meaningful & a little longer!
For a wedding reception at Villa del Arco, here is an overview of what’s included:

Here’s an idea of how this worked for our wedding:
*For our cocktail hour from 6:00pm - 7:00pm, we had 2 cold appetizers & 2 warm appetizers which were great.
*We used the resort's cocktail tables to save money, but we also added additional décor, like the lounge seating pictured below, from Let It Be Events.
*For our wedding reception from 7:00pm - 11:00pm (which is the resort's curfew), we used the resort's round tables, white tablecloths, & flatware/glasses. Let It Be Events provided décor items like our sweetheart table, all candles, dance floor, & my favorites - our mirror seating chart & maracas! I designed & printed our wedding stationery seen below. *The food during our wedding reception dinner was amazing! All of our wedding guests loved it as much as we did. The photos below are from our food tasting, which was also amazing!

*Our wedding cake honestly wasn’t great (I don't really like cake to begin with though lol), but our cake did look nice! We brought our own cake topper & cake cutting set, & our wedding planner added flowers from our bridesmaids bouquets for us!
*The service on our wedding day was outstanding & we loved having so many servers taking care of us - they always made sure we had bottled water & that our cocktails were full!
For a wedding reception at Villa del Arco, you have the option to buyout one of the following restaurants:
El Patron Terrace: capacity 70-100 guests
El Patron Restaurant: capacity 40-70 guests
Neptune: capacity 64 guests (we love this restaurant, but El Patron offers a bigger space for a wedding setup)
For our wedding, we decided to buyout both El Patron Terrace & El Patron Restaurant for more privacy. We only had 35 guests, so buying out both parts of the restaurant cost more, but it was worth it! We had our ceremony on the terrace, cocktail hour inside of the restaurant (which allowed them to set up our wedding reception back outside on the terrace), & our wedding reception on El Patron Terrace was amazing! Cabo is known for their amazingly consistent weather so it was lovely to have everything outside. While we got married in June (which is technically the start of hurricane season) we had amazing weather during our destination wedding week! The months we recommend that you avoid getting married in Cabo are August & September. These are the months where Cabo gets the most rain & is extremely hot/humid.
For all wedding reception options, Villa del Arco charges a minimum consumption price for food & beverages. To meet our minimum consumption price, we opted for nicer alcohol & added late night snacks which were Villa del Palmar’s pizza which is the best & churros! Additional wedding expenses like your photographer, videographer, florist/décor vendor, musician/DJ, etc. are quoted separately from the wedding packages described above. Villa del Arco works with a list of approved wedding vendors & you can read tips for choosing your wedding vendors here!

Villa del Arco is truly a great resort for you & your wedding guests during your destination wedding week. Our family & friends LOVED doing the all-inclusive option! While it is not required to do all-inclusive at Villa del Arco, it is an affordable option for your guests, especially for wedding group packages. To start each day, the breakfast buffet served at El Patrón is amazing. We love to order lunch by the pool, but you can also have lunch at the pirate ship restaurant (El Bucanero) or at the taco bar near the pool. For dinner, you can dine at El Patron (where we had our wedding) or Neptune, which is our favorite restaurant at Villa del Arco! You also have the option to dine at restaurants at Villa del Palmar & attend their all-inclusive dinner shows. We recommend the Mexican show (the buffet food is amazing) & dinner at Bella California. Room service is also included on the all-inclusive plan & the only up charge is a small delivery fee. Alcoholic beverages are obviously included in your all-inclusive, too! If you choose to get married at Villa del Arco, & your guests do all-inclusive, this makes your wedding reception dinner more affordable for you, which is an added bonus!

We also had a welcome dinner at Villa del Arco which included an open bar for 2 hours, a taco buffet for dinner, & an assortment of Mexican desserts. Our other destination wedding week events included a private sunset sail on the Tropicat & rehearsal dinner at Romeo y Julieta. The all-inclusive was affordable for our wedding group so they definitely got their money’s worth during breakfast, lunch, & drinks by the pool, & enjoyed the evening events we had planned for them! The rooms at Villa del Arco are on the more expensive side, but this is a luxury resort located along Medano Beach, so you will not be disappointed!

One of Villa del Arco’s adjoining resorts, Villa del Palmar, is another great option for your Cabo San Lucas destination wedding. The wedding packages are similar to what we outlined in the Villa del Arco section above, but here are your wedding venue options at Villa del Palmar:
Desert Lounge: capacity 30-100 guests
Bella California Terrace: ceremony capacity 120 guests
Bella California Restaurant: reception capacity 80 - 150 guests
Having your wedding at Villa del Palmar can be more affordable for you & your wedding guests, which makes it a great option if you have a tighter wedding budget! At Villa del Palmar, the wedding food/beverage consumption prices are lower & the rooms are cheaper compared to Villa del Arco. A downside about staying at Villa del Palmar is that their all-inclusive package does not work at Villa del Arco & you cannot use Villa del Arco’s pool or gym. Also, Villa del Palmar is not as luxurious as Villa del Arco (in terms of rooms/amenities) & there tends to be more of a rowdy crowd of people that stay at Villa del Palmar. Benefits of staying at Villa del Palmar include a better cobb salad by the pool (I’m obsessed lol), you are closer to their amazing pizza & the Palmita market, Palmar has a water slide which is great for kids, & the view of the Cabo rocks is slightly better from Palmar! We are partial to Villa del Arco, but in terms of an affordable resort on Médano Beach, Villa del Palmar does not disappoint, as the level of service is just as great!
The last resort you will find in between Villa del Arco & Villa del Palmar is Villa la Estancia. It is mostly private residences so we do not recommend this property for wedding groups, but it is an amazing property for a different type of vacation to Cabo! Corazon Cabo Resort has so much to offer for a destination wedding and/or honeymoon! We’ll start with our favorite location on their property, which is Rooftop 360. The views are amazing as you can see in this video! Wouldn’t a wedding on this rooftop be amazing?!
Even if you don’t get married here, we highly recommend you check out Rooftop 360 during your bachelor/bachelorette party, destination wedding week, honeymoon, or anniversary trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! We’re obsessed with this place both day & night!
Baja Brewing Co. Rooftop is another amazing option at this resort. We thought about having our rehearsal dinner here because the food is great & the views are amazing as you can see in the photos below!
Other wedding venue options at this resort include their sundeck, restaurant Aleta, & Beach Club. The resort attracts a lot of people in their 20s & 30s so there are always great vibes! Also, the hotel rooms are recently renovated, so they are super nice! Please contact us here if you are interested in having your destination wedding or honeymoon at Corazon Cabo Resort.
Hacienda Beach Club & Residences, & it’s sister property, 1 Homes Preview Cabo, are some of the more expensive resorts located along Medano Beach & it’s easy to see why. They have luxurious resort rooms, as well as private residences - some of which include a plunge pool. We love this location since it is within walking distance to the Marina & downtown Cabo San Lucas.
Hacienda’s most popular restaurant, Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, is a great option for your destination wedding. The food is amazing & you have the option to have everything setup on their private beach, right in front of the beautiful Land’s End rock formation. La Cascada Terrace & La Cima Terrace are their other options for a destination wedding, which are wonderful, too! After dining at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, we considered having our rehearsal dinner there, so we highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion during your time in Cabo! Part of the Bahia Hotel is Sur Beach House which is an amazing wedding venue option for a beachy Cabo wedding. They have an upper deck option that offers privacy & a beautiful backdrop of the Cabo rocks for your wedding ceremony, or you can get married right on Medano Beach. Sur Beach House is a beautiful restaurant so it makes for a great option for your wedding reception, too!
The Bahia Hotel itself isn’t located on the beach, but when staying at this boutique hotel, you get priority access to Sur Beach House, which is an upscale way to spend a day at Medano Beach. We love Sur Beach House for their amazing food & cocktails (this was another contender for our rehearsal dinner), so it makes for a great spot to grab dinner during your honeymoon. The Bahia Hotel also has an amazing coffee shop & a great restaurant called Bar Esquina! Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos - This was the first Pueblo Bonito resort in Los Cabos & you can see their destination wedding venue options here.
Pueblo Bonito Rose - Right next to Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos is Pueblo Bonito Rose which has great destination wedding venue options, too!
Hotel Riu Palace Baja California - This newest Riu in Cabo is an adults-only resort which looks amazing.
Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas - This family-friendly Riu is a huge all-inclusive resort & you can read about their wedding packages here.
Hotel Riu Santa Fe - This Riu is known for its adults-only pool party & Splash Water World for kids. You can read about their wedding packages here.
ME CABO by Melia - The recent renovations at the ME look amazing & you can read about their wedding packages here.
Breathless - This is a newer adults-only hotel located in the Cabo San Lucas Marina. It looks very nice & you can read about their wedding packages here. Weddings on their rooftop look beautiful!
Club Cascadas - This was one of the first resorts in Cabo & it is a unique, villa style resort. Their wedding packages aren’t clear on their website, but the rooms look nice for a honeymoon!
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR WEDDINGS
Last but not least, there are a few resorts Rich & Kitch do not recommend for destination weddings along Medano Beach. We’re not saying that these are necessarily bad places to stay during a trip to Cabo, but they aren’t very destination wedding friendly in our opinion, so here is the list:
Casa Dorada - When looking at this resort from the beach, a lot of the resort’s views are taken up by a rowdy day club called Mango Deck, so we don’t think it would be enjoyable to stay here. We’ve also seen weddings setup on their beach & it is not private for a wedding.
Tesoro Los Cabos - This is an affordable hotel located in the heart of the Cabo San Lucas Marina, but it looks a little outdated for a wedding.
Since there are so many other options for a Cabo destination wedding, we don’t recommend these hotels for a wedding.
