From having our destination wedding & honeymoon in Cabo, to traveling to Cabo multiple times a year for vacation & wedding planning, we’ve mastered the list of everything you’ll need to pack!
When traveling to a foreign country like Mexico, it is important to pack things that might not be easily accessible. While Cabo San Lucas is an established tourist destination, and they have stores like Costco & Wal-Mart, some of the items they carry are different than what you’re used to in America. That’s why we like to be prepared when traveling & we’ve created quite the list of travel necessities we always pack! You’ll also want to be looking your best during your bachelor/bachelorette party, destination wedding week, honeymoon, & anniversary trips, so we’ll be sharing matching couples style inspiration along with our packing tips!
PACKING YOUR CHECKED LUGGAGE
When it comes to packing the suitcases you are going to check, we highly recommend these packing cubes. They are a lifesaver for keeping your clothes organized & make it easier to unpack when you arrive in Cabo!

As you are packing your clothes, remember to check the weather since that might impact how you pack, too! (The winter months in Cabo can get a little chilly at night, especially if it's windy!)

PACKING YOUR CARRY-ON BAGS
We like to pack 2 carry-on items - one personal item & one roller carry-on. There are some items that should ONLY be included in your personal carry-on bag (like jewelry & your passport in your passport holder) since it will be with you at all times & you will want to be able to access certain items while you're on the plane.
After losing our luggage on one of our trips to Cabo, we now have a list of must-have items we pack in our additional roller carry-on suitcase, just in case we lose our checked luggage again. Sometimes they will check your roller carry-on at the boarding gate if they are running out of overhead bin space, which is why we have a separate list of items for our roller carry-on bag.
LUGGAGE WE LOVE
If you don’t have reliable suitcases or carry-on bags for flying yet, now is the time to add these items to your wedding registry if you are still wedding planning! When we were getting married, our luggage set might have been one of our favorite gifts from our wedding registry. Suitcases that stand out are the best thing to see when you’re heading towards baggage claim, especially with all the luggage you’ll be bringing to your destination wedding & on your honeymoon! You'll need luggage tags on your bags, too. We love these bride & groom luggage tags as well as these Mr. & Mrs. luggage tags. You could even completely customize your luggage tags on Shutterfly like we did for our destination wedding guests!
OVERALL RICH & KITCH PACKING TIPS
In terms of overall packing tips, make sure your luggage is labeled (carry-on bags & checked suitcases) both on the outside & inside with your name & phone number.
Also, if you are traveling for an extended amount of time, make sure you put your mail on hold or have a neighbor or family member pick it up. Put your OOO on your work email, too! It also doesn’t hurt to make sure your phone is backed up. Before leaving your home/apartment, turn your heat or air conditioner down/up, clean out your fridge, take out all trash, & unplug everything!

TRAVEL OUTFIT TIPS
When flying, I always prefer to wear something black, since it is easy to get dirty while you are traveling. My favorite black dresses for travel (which are affordable & comfortable) can be found here! Also, you never know if the airplane will be cold, or if you'll be running through the airport to make your connecting flight, so comfortable (but fashionable shoes) & a jean jacket are a must. My favorites can be found here!
